Welcome to the hiking route to Era Montanheta! This challenging trail spans a distance of 13.106 kilometers with an elevation gain of 973 meters, making it extremely difficult but rewarding for those seeking a strenuous adventure.
Located in a scenic area surrounded by natural beauty, the trail starts at a parking area at the trailhead. As you begin your journey, you will pass by the Guardader deth Portinhon viewpoint, offering stunning panoramic views of the surrounding landscapes. This viewpoint is located right at the beginning of the trail, providing a great start to your hike.
As you venture further along the path, you will encounter the Monument al Tour de France, an artwork that adds cultural interest to the hike. This monument is situated close to the trail, allowing you to appreciate it without veering off course.
Midway through the hike, you will reach the Penha des Clòts de Coma peak, which offers a challenging ascent but promises breathtaking views at the top. Continuing on, you will come across the Còth dera Montanheta saddle, followed by the Còth de Fontfreda saddle. These natural features add an extra element to the trail, showcasing the diverse terrain of the area.
Finally, you will reach the highlight of the hike, the Era Montanheta peak. This significant point marks the end of the trail and serves as the ultimate reward for your efforts, with sweeping views from the summit.
