This hiking route takes you through the beautiful area of Cordel de Santillana and Real Sitio de San Ildefonso. The trail is 8.255 kilometers long with an elevation gain of 369 meters, making it a difficult hike that will take approximately 2 hours and 50 minutes to complete.
As you start your journey, you will come across the Fuente de la Cantina spring, located just 0.02 kilometers from the beginning of the trail. This is a great spot to refill your water bottle before continuing on. Further along the trail, at 4.13 kilometers from the start, you will find the Fuente de la Reina spring, providing another opportunity to rest and hydrate.
Additionally, there are parking areas scattered along the trail, with one just 0.02 kilometers from the start and another at the beginning of the hike. These are convenient spots to leave your vehicle before embarking on the trek.
At 3.92 kilometers from the start, you will pass by the ruins of Venta de la Fuenfría, adding a historical element to your hike. Just 0.07 kilometers further, there is an informational point providing insights into the area's heritage.
