This challenging 8.987-kilometer circular hiking route in the Gabel area offers stunning views and diverse natural beauty. The trail features an elevation gain of 616 meters and is estimated to take around 3 hours and 37 minutes to complete.
As you start your journey, you will come across the Breitenebenalm, a charming alpine hut and restaurant located just 0.06 kilometers from the beginning of the trail. This is a great spot to grab a bite to eat or enjoy a refreshing beverage before continuing your adventure.
Approximately 1.49 kilometers into the hike, you will encounter the Karsegg-Heimalm, another alpine hut offering sustenance and accommodation options for weary travelers. Further along the trail, at 2.89 kilometers, you will find a natural spring where you can refill your water bottle and take a break.
Throughout the hike, you will pass by various points of interest, such as the Karseggalm information center at 1.49 kilometers, providing valuable insights about the area. Additionally, benches and informational points are conveniently placed along the trail for resting and learning more about the surroundings.
At the 4.01-kilometer mark, you will reach the Gabel peak, offering breathtaking panoramic views as a rewarding end point for your journey. Along the way, you will also encounter a zoo at 0.06 kilometers and a historic wayside cross at the same distance, adding cultural and recreational elements to your hike.
