This hiking route takes you through the beautiful area surrounding the Alter Schlammteich. The trail is a circular route with a total distance of 1.192 kilometers and no elevation gain, making it super easy and suitable for hikers of all levels.
As you start your hike, you will come across the parking area located right at the beginning of the trail. Along the way, you will find benches where you can take a rest and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Keep an eye out for the Naturschutzgebiet ehem. Klärteiche, a former sewage treatment plant turned nature reserve, which is located midway through the hike.
Nearby, there is an information point where you can learn more about the area. If you're feeling hungry, you can visit the restaurant called Empore, which is located towards the end of the trail. The route also passes by the Dem Ehrenbürger Peter Weitz bench, dedicated to a local honorary citizen, providing a nice spot to relax and take in the views.
