This challenging hiking route will take you to the beautiful area of Otovitsa in Bulgaria. The trail covers a distance of 11.901 kilometers with an elevation gain of 630.0 meters, taking approximately 4 hours and 20 minutes to complete.

As you start your journey, you will come across the highest parking lot in Bulgaria, located right at the beginning of the trail. It provides a convenient starting point for your adventure. Along the way, you will pass by a water source about 0.61 kilometers from the start, so make sure to refill your water bottle there.

About 4.06 kilometers into the hike, you will reach the Ivan Vazov hut, a cozy alpine accommodation where you can take a break and enjoy the surroundings. Another Ivan Vazov hut is located nearby, offering a wheelchair-inaccessible but charming place to rest.

Further along the trail, at 5.95 kilometers, you will encounter the peak of Otovitsa, known as Otvitsa Peak, offering mesmerizing panoramic views of the area. On your way back, make sure to stop by the Vinceto shelter at 2562 meters above sea level for a well-deserved break.

Throughout the hike, there are drinking water stations conveniently located at various points along the trail to keep you hydrated. It is recommended to bring an ample supply of water, snacks, and proper hiking gear for this challenging route.
