Welcome to the hiking route to Gatternighütte in the beautiful alpine region of Austria.

Your journey begins at the Nationalpark-Parkplatz Kaponigtal parking area, located approximately 1 km away from the starting point. Make sure to pack enough water and snacks for this 4 km long hike with an elevation gain of 178 meters.

As you start your hike, you will pass by the information points that provide insights into the local flora and fauna. These points are spread along the trail, so keep an eye out for them as you enjoy the picturesque surroundings.

After around 2 km of hiking, you will reach the Stranighütte alpine hut, where you can take a break and enjoy some traditional Austrian cuisine while taking in the stunning views of the alpine landscape.

Continuing on the trail for another kilometer, you will arrive at your final destination, Gatternighütte. This alpine hut offers a cozy atmosphere and a perfect spot to rest before making your way back to the starting point.
