This extremely difficult 12.972-kilometer out-and-back hiking route will take you to Altos de la Aguililla. The trail starts at a parking area, where you can leave your vehicle before embarking on this challenging journey. As you begin your hike, you will pass by El Centro Guayadeque, a restaurant where you can grab a bite to eat before hitting the trail.
About midway through the hike, you will come across a water source where you can refill your supplies. Make sure to bring plenty of water with you, as this trail can be physically demanding. As you continue on, you will reach Altos de la Aguililla, a peak offering stunning panoramic views of the surrounding area.
If you're up for a bit of exploration, you can also visit Cuevas de Guayadeque, a cave system located a short distance from the trail. Along the way, you may also come across an information point where you can learn more about the area and its history.
