This difficult 8.821-kilometer out-and-back hiking route will take you to the stunning Cima dell'Osservatorio. The trail begins at the parking area, with the first point of interest being Ponte Verde, a cozy restaurant just 0.3 kilometers from the start where you can grab a meal or snack before your hike.
As you continue on the trail, you'll pass by a drinking water point at the beginning of the hike, perfect for refilling your water bottle. Further along, at 2.2 kilometers from the start, you'll spot the majestic peak of Campanile di Val Fontana d'Oro, although it's a bit off the trail. At 2.51 kilometers, you'll reach the Bocchetta dell'Uderle, a scenic saddle point along the trail.
For the more adventurous hikers, there are several peaks to explore along the way, including Cimon del Soglio Rosso at 3.94 kilometers, Il Frate at 2.63 kilometers, and Cima Raffi at 2.78 kilometers from the start. If you're up for a slight detour, take a break at the breathtaking Cascata Brazzavalle waterfall, located at the midway point of the hike. Just be prepared for a short off-trail excursion to reach it.
As you near the end of the hike, you'll reach the highlight of the route, Cima dell'Osservatorio, at 4.41 kilometers from the start. Enjoy the panoramic views from the summit before retracing your steps back to the trailhead.
