Welcome to the hiking route to Mont Charvin, a challenging yet rewarding trail in the beautiful mountainous region. The trail is an out-and-back type, starting and ending at the same point.
As you begin your journey, you will pass by the Chapelle de Notre-Dame de la Salette, a historic site just 0.03 kilometers from the start. Further along the trail, at 1.06 kilometers from the start, you will reach the Forêt de l'Outraz, offering a serene atmosphere for a peaceful walk.
Midway through the hike, at 2.64 kilometers from the start, you will encounter the Col de la Combe Genin, a natural saddle providing stunning panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. As you continue towards the summit, you will come across the Oratoire du Villard, a wayside shrine located right on the trail.
The trail culminates at Mont Charvin, a natural peak standing at 3.05 kilometers from the start. Here, you will be rewarded with breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. The total distance of the hike is 6.106 kilometers with an elevation gain of 665 meters, making it a difficult but invigorating trek.
