This extremely difficult 12.342-kilometer circular hiking route will take you through the stunning area surrounding Sasso Vernale. The trail begins at a parking area and passes by Rifugio Fuciade, an alpine hut and restaurant, where you can take a break 1.41 kilometers into the hike. Make sure to bring some water as the next drinking water spot is 1.41 kilometers away.

As you continue on the trail, you will come across Valle Tasca information point at 3.44 kilometers into the hike. Enjoy the beautiful natural surroundings as you make your way towards Ombretola peak at 5.31 kilometers from the start. The trail then leads to Pas de le Cirèle saddle at 3.9 kilometers and Passo di Ombrettola at 5.38 kilometers, offering panoramic views of the area.

At the 6.04-kilometer mark, you will reach Sasso Vernale peak, a rewarding spot for a rest before heading back. Along the way, you'll also encounter Capitello wayside cross and I sentieri dell'amicizia memorial, adding a touch of historic charm to your hike.

This challenging route involves an elevation gain of 1249 meters, so be prepared for a strenuous climb. It's important to bring plenty of water, snacks, and proper hiking gear. Check the weather forecast before heading out and make sure to stay on the marked trail for safety. Happy hiking!
