This extremely difficult circular hiking route will take you to the breathtaking area of Walenalp-Walegg in the Swiss Alps. With a total distance of 13.918 kilometers and an elevation gain of 1098 meters, this challenging trail is not for the faint-hearted.
As you begin your journey, you will find a parking area at the starting point of the trail. Make sure to bring plenty of water and snacks as this hike will take approximately 6 hours to complete. Along the way, you will come across various points of interest such as Walenalp picnic site and BBQ area about 4.28 kilometers from the start, where you can take a break and enjoy a meal.
Further along the trail at 6.36 kilometers, you will reach Walegg, a natural saddle where you can take in the stunning views of the surrounding landscape. Additionally, there are several information points scattered throughout the hike providing valuable insights into the area.
At the halfway point, you will encounter a cafe where you can refuel before continuing your trek. As you make your way back, take a moment to rest at one of the benches strategically placed along the trail at 4.28 kilometers and 6.4 kilometers from the start.
