This extremely difficult circular hiking route, known as Chemin du Lago Verde, offers a challenging but rewarding outdoor experience near Abriès-Ristolas. The 12.859-kilometer trail features a total elevation gain of 950 meters and is estimated to take around 5 hours and 21 minutes to complete.

As you embark on this journey, you will encounter several points of interest along the way. At the beginning of the trail, you will find a drinking water source, allowing you to replenish your supplies before starting your hike. Approximately 6.34 kilometers into the route, there is another water source nearby.

Around the halfway point of the hike, at 5.12 kilometers from the start, you will come across historic ruins, adding a cultural element to your outdoor adventure. The trail also passes by more ruins a short distance away from the first set.

At 6.17 kilometers from the start, you will reach Col d'Abriès / Col St. Martin, a saddle that offers panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Additionally, there is a parking area located at the beginning of the trailhead for your convenience. Informational signs can also be found along the route to provide insight into the local area.
