This hiking route takes you through the beautiful area surrounding Maschio d'Ariano (monte Algido). The trail is 8.246 kilometers long with an elevation gain of 473 meters, making it a difficult trek that will take about 3 hours and 5 minutes to complete.
As you start your journey, you will pass by Piazzale Martiri della Libertà, a parking area that marks the beginning of the trail. Along the way, you will come across Fonte Donzelletta, a drinking water spot located 2.41 kilometers from the start, where you can refill your water bottle. Further ahead, at around 3.1 kilometers into the hike, you will find a picnic site and a fountain called Fonte donzella, perfect for taking a break and enjoying the surroundings.
Continuing on, at 4.09 kilometers, you will reach a viewpoint called Panorama, offering stunning views of the area. As you approach the turnaround point, Maschio d'Ariano (monte Algido), a peak located 4.12 kilometers from the start, awaits you with its breathtaking vistas. Nearby, there are the Rovine Castello d'Ariano (Algidum) archaeological site and the Rifugio shelter, both worth exploring.
