This hiking route takes you through a challenging terrain with a total distance of 12.423 kilometers and an elevation gain of 908 meters, making it extremely difficult yet rewarding for experienced hikers.
Starting at the trailhead, you will pass by several points of interest along the way. At the beginning of the route, you will find a parking area for your convenience. As you continue, you will come across a wayside cross that adds a historic touch to the journey. Further ahead, you will reach Rifugio Larici da Alessio, an alpine hut where you can take a break and enjoy some local cuisine.
Throughout the hike, you will encounter multiple water sources, so make sure to bring a water bottle to stay hydrated. Additionally, there are informational points along the trail providing insights into the surrounding natural and historic landmarks.
Midway through the route, you will reach Porta Manazzo, a saddle that offers panoramic views of the area. Make sure to take a moment to soak in the scenic beauty before continuing on your adventure.
As you near the end of the trail, you will pass by Rifugio Val Formica, another alpine hut where you can rest and refuel before heading back. Finally, you will return to the starting point, completing this out-and-back hiking experience.
