Welcome to the R2 hiking route!

This extremely difficult 14.3 km out-and-back trail offers stunning views and challenging terrain for experienced hikers. The route has an elevation gain of 1066 meters, so be prepared for a strenuous climb.

Starting at the parking area, you'll soon come across the Gîte et camping Les Filaos, a great spot to rest and refuel around the 6.3 km mark. As you continue on, you'll find a pub at 6.36 km where you can grab a drink and enjoy the surroundings.

Around the midway point at 6.53 km, there is an alpine hut and a viewpoint where you can take in breathtaking sights. As you approach the 7.15 km mark, you'll find another alpine hut and a historic wayside shrine to explore.

Along the trail, you'll also encounter various amenities such as drinking water sources, picnic sites, and informational spots providing insight into the area's history and natural features.

Don't forget to pack plenty of water, snacks, and sunscreen for this challenging hike. Make sure to check the weather forecast before heading out and wear appropriate hiking gear.
