This extremely difficult 16.075-kilometer circular hiking route will take you through the breathtaking Pizzo Farno area. The trail offers a challenging elevation gain of 1384 meters, making it suitable for experienced hikers seeking a strenuous adventure.
As you embark on this journey, you will encounter various points of interest along the route. At the beginning of the trail, you will find the picturesque Lago Piano Casere, located 4.44 kilometers from the start. Further along, at 3.89 kilometers, you will come across the tranquil Lago Marcio and then Lago Becco at 3.62 kilometers.
Midway through the hike, approximately 5.45 kilometers from the start, you will reach the welcoming Rifugio Laghi Gemelli alpine hut. This is a great spot to take a break, refuel, and enjoy the stunning mountain views.
Continuing on, you will pass by historic landmarks such as Baita Tomaso and the ruins of Vecchio Rifugio Gemelli before reaching the informative Pro Loco at 0.12 kilometers from the start.
Towards the end of the hike, at 7.89 kilometers, you will reach the peak of Pizzo Farno, offering panoramic views of the surrounding area. Make sure to bring plenty of water, snacks, and dress in layers as the weather can be unpredictable in the mountains.
