This hiking route will take you to the beautiful Backelstein area, starting from the Altwiesen/Schwimmbad parking lot. The trail is an out-and-back type, with a total distance of 9.72 kilometers and an elevation gain of 37 meters.

As you begin your hike, you will pass by the Backelstein climbing area, where you can see impressive rock formations. Further along the trail, you will come across the Schwimmbadkiosk for a quick snack or refreshment.

Along the way, you will find several benches where you can rest and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Take a moment to appreciate the Hermann Hauck memorial and the Ritterstein Nr. 220, known as the "Backelstein - Fruehmittelalterliche Holzburg".

As you continue your hike, informational signs such as the Rundwanderwege "Altwiesen" and the Abzweig Dörreinfelsen will provide interesting insights about the area. Make sure to stop by the viewpoint at Backelstein for a breathtaking panoramic view.
