This hiking route takes you through the scenic area around Mount Judah. The trail starts at the Donner Peak Trailhead, which is conveniently located at the beginning of the route. As you make your way along the trail, you'll come across various points of interest.
About 2.75 kilometers into the hike, you'll pass by the Emigrant Trail Truckee, where you can learn about the history of the area. Further along, at around 2.15 kilometers from the start, you'll reach a viewpoint where you can stop to admire the stunning scenery. As you continue on, you'll encounter another viewpoint at 1.67 kilometers from the start, offering different perspectives of the surrounding landscape.
The highlight of the hike is reaching Mount Judah, which is approximately 4.16 kilometers from the starting point. The peak offers breathtaking views and is a great spot to rest and enjoy a snack before heading back.
This 8.324-kilometer out-and-back route has an elevation gain of 345 meters, making it a difficult hike that is best suited for experienced hikers.
