This challenging hiking route takes you through the stunning Seerundweg area, offering breathtaking views and a variety of natural attractions.
As you start your journey at Seichenbrunn parking area, you'll soon come across the picturesque Kreuzsee, a beautiful water feature located just 4.53 kilometers from the trailhead. Further along the trail, you'll pass by several water points that provide a refreshing break for tired hikers.
About 2.95 kilometers from the start, you'll encounter another water spot before reaching the Wangenitzseehütte alpine hut at 5.08 kilometers, which is a great place to rest and refuel. As you continue your ascent, the route will lead you to Untere Seescharte, a scenic saddle located 4.2 kilometers from the beginning.
For those interested in via ferrata, there is a challenging route located 4.6 kilometers into the hike. Additionally, informative signs can be found along the trail at various points, providing interesting insights into the area's natural and historical significance.
This out-and-back trail covers a total distance of 10.89 kilometers with an elevation gain of 877 meters, making it a difficult hike suitable for experienced hikers. Remember to bring plenty of water, snacks, and to check the weather forecast before embarking on this adventure.
