This hiking route will take you through the stunning area surrounding Gänsekragen peak. The trail is 12.008 kilometers long with an elevation gain of 1230 meters, making it an extremely difficult hike that will challenge even experienced hikers. The estimated duration for this hike is approximately 5 hours and 51 minutes.

The hike starts at the Winnebachseehütte Wanderer Parkplatz parking area, where you can leave your vehicle before setting off on the trail. The trail will lead you past beautiful landmarks such as Winnebachsee lake, which is located about 4.06 kilometers from the start. This serene alpine lake offers a perfect place to take a break and enjoy the scenery.

About halfway through the hike, you will come across the Winnebachseehütte, an alpine hut where you can rest and refuel. This hut also serves as a starting point for the Klettergarten Kleinkanada climbing area, located 4.24 kilometers from the start.

As you continue on the trail, you will pass Gasthof Winnebach, a restaurant situated approximately 0.53 kilometers from the start. This is a great spot to grab a meal or a refreshing drink before continuing on your journey.

Towards the end of the hike, at around 6.0 kilometers from the start, you will reach the Gänsekragen peak. This iconic peak offers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and valleys, making it a worthwhile destination for hikers.

Throughout the hike, you will encounter several benches where you can take a rest and enjoy the scenery. There are also drinking water facilities available at various points along the trail to ensure you stay hydrated during your journey.
