This hiking route will take you to the scenic area of Rötzenfelsen, starting at an elevation of 320 meters and reaching a destination elevation of 418 meters. The total distance of the hike is 2.888 kilometers with an elevation gain of 110 meters, making it a moderate difficulty level due to its length and slight elevation.
As you begin your hike, you will come across various points of interest along the way. The first landmark you will encounter is the Rötzensteinpfeiler, known for its climbing opportunities, located just 1 kilometer away from the starting point. Next, you will find the 4 Burgenblick viewpoint and shelter, both located at the beginning of the route.
As you continue on the trail, you will pass by benches for resting and enjoy the scenery. About halfway through the hike, you will reach the peak of Rötzenberg, offering stunning panoramic views of the surrounding area. Nearby, you will find the Abzweig Rötzenfels information point and benches for a quick break.
Further along the trail, you will come across the historical wayside cross and the impressive natural formations of Rötzenfelsen and Rötzenstein. Along the way, you will find information points such as Abzweig Gossersweiler and Rötzenberg - Landschaftsbild to learn more about the area.
