Hiking : Hochleitenspitz - Punta Alta

This extremely difficult 15.7-kilometer circular hiking route will take you to the stunning Hochleitenspitz - Punta Alta in the alpine region. The elevation gain of 1349 meters makes it a challenging hike that requires good physical condition.

Starting from the trailhead, you will pass by the Yak & Yeti restaurant just 0.02 kilometers from the start, where you can grab a bite to eat before embarking on your journey. As you continue, you will come across the Tabarettahütte alpine hut at 4.55 kilometers from the start, a perfect spot to rest and take in the breathtaking mountain views.

Midway through the hike, you will reach the Bärenkopfscharte - Forcella dell'Orso, a natural saddle point offering panoramic vistas of the surrounding landscape. Be sure to stay hydrated and pack enough water as you make your way through the challenging terrain.

As you approach the end of the hike, you will encounter the Hochleitenjoch - Forcella Punta Alta saddle at 7.13 kilometers from the start, followed by the Hochleitenspitz - Punta Alta peak at 7.57 kilometers, offering a rewarding summit experience.

Throughout the hike, you will also come across various points of interest such as rock formations, a memorial, and informative tourist spots. Remember to check the weather forecast before setting out and wear appropriate hiking gear for a safe and enjoyable experience.
