This hiking route takes you through a beautiful area with stunning natural scenery. The trail is a circular route with a total distance of 2.92 kilometers and an elevation gain of 219 meters, making it an easy hike suitable for all skill levels.
You will start the hike at a parking area located 0.01 kilometers from the trail. As you make your way along the trail, you will come across a water source at 0.01 kilometers and another one at 0.04 kilometers. These spots are perfect for refilling your water bottles, so make sure to bring an adequate supply.
About 1.39 kilometers into the hike, you will reach Honister Slate Mine, a fascinating attraction where you can learn about the history of slate mining in the area. Nearby, there are several water sources to admire, providing a peaceful atmosphere to rest and take in the surroundings.
At around 1.39 kilometers into the hike, you will also encounter Black Star, a peak offering panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. This is a great spot to take a break and enjoy the scenery before continuing on the trail.
Midway through the hike, you will pass by Sky Hi Cafe, where you can stop for a snack or a refreshing drink. Additionally, there are artwork installations along the trail, such as Loss, adding a touch of culture to your outdoor experience.
As you near the end of the hike, you will come across No Public Access, Live Mine, Danger Of Death - The Monkey Shelf. This area is a designated monument with informative signage warning of the dangers of the live mine. Please exercise caution and stay on the designated trail to ensure your safety.
