This extremely difficult 12.48-kilometer out-and-back hiking route will take you to the stunning Cime Borgonio in the Mercantour-Argentera region. The trail offers a challenging elevation gain of 1183 meters and is estimated to take approximately 5 hours and 50 minutes to complete.
Starting from the parking area at the trailhead, hikers will pass by the historic ruins at 4.08 kilometers into the hike, adding a touch of ancient charm to the journey. As you continue onwards, you will reach the Rifugio Alfredo Talarico alpine hut and the Abri du Pas de Vens shelter, both located near the beginning of the trail, providing convenient rest stops and overnight accommodation options.
