This extremely difficult out-and-back hiking route takes you to the majestic peak of Hochtor, covering a distance of 10.149 kilometers with an elevation gain of 1356 meters. The total duration for this hike is estimated to be around 5 hours and 44 minutes.
Starting off at the trailhead, you will come across the Kölblwirt restaurant just 0.02 kilometers from the beginning of the hike where you can grab a meal or refreshments before embarking on your journey. Further along the trail at about 1.47 kilometers in, you will encounter the beautiful Wolfbauer Wasserfall waterfall, a perfect spot to take in the stunning natural surroundings.
As you continue your ascent, the Hochtor peak at 5.07 kilometers into the hike will offer breathtaking panoramic views as a rewarding endpoint. Make sure to stay hydrated and carry enough water and snacks as this hike is considered extremely difficult due to its length and elevation gain.
