This challenging hiking route will take you to the stunning Kampspitze peak in the beautiful area of Oberer Giglachsee.
Starting at the trailhead, you will first pass by Brettersee, a picturesque water body located around midway through the hike. Further along the trail, you will come across Oberer Giglachsee, a serene lake that is a perfect spot to take a break and enjoy the surroundings.
As you continue on your journey, you will encounter various water sources along the way, providing ample opportunities to refill your water bottles. Additionally, there are several alpine huts such as Giglachsee Hütte and Ignaz-Mattis-Hütte where you can rest and grab a bite to eat.
For those interested in history, you will come across informative markers and a wayside cross, providing insight into the area's heritage.
The route is an out-and-back type, totaling 11.72 kilometers with an elevation gain of 765 meters, making it a difficult hike. Make sure to pack plenty of water, snacks, and check the weather forecast before embarking on this adventure.
