This challenging hiking route in the Gasteran area spans a total distance of 7.877 kilometers with an elevation gain of 598 meters, taking approximately 3 hours and 19 minutes to complete. The trail starts at José María Martínez de las Rivas monument. As you begin your journey, you can find parking facilities nearby for your convenience. Be sure to carry an ample water supply and check the weather forecast before setting out.
Along the way, you will pass by a drinking water station, perfect for refilling your water bottles. Midway through the hike, you'll reach Collado Aldape saddle, offering stunning panoramic views of the surrounding natural landscape. Further ahead, you'll encounter Aldapita peak, providing a challenging yet rewarding ascent.
For a quick break and a bite to eat, Batzoki bar is located conveniently along the trail. As you approach the endpoint, you'll come across the Gasteran peak, offering a picturesque setting for a well-deserved rest before your return journey. Do note the cave entrance of Comandanta, located a short distance from the trail, which adds an intriguing element to your adventure.
