This hiking route takes you through the beautiful area surrounding Ancien Refuge Tucket, along Route de Cézanne in Vallouise-Pelvoux. The trail is an out-and-back type with a total distance of 7.878 kilometers and an elevation gain of 562 meters, making it a difficult but rewarding hike.
As you start your journey, you will come across Pré de Madame Carle parking area located right at the beginning of the trail. This is a good spot to leave your vehicle before embarking on the hike. Just a short distance away, you will find Chalet Refuge du Pré de Madame Carle, a cozy alpine hut where you can take a break and enjoy the stunning surroundings.
Midway through the hike, you will reach Lac Tuckett, a beautiful water body that is slightly off the trail. This is a perfect spot to rest and take in the scenic views. Further along the trail, you will pass by Refuge Cezanne, another alpine hut where you can refuel and relax before continuing on your adventure.
Along the way, be sure to visit Centre d'accueil du Pré de Mme Carle and Forêt Domaniale de Pelvoux for some interesting information about the area. Additionally, you will come across several other points of interest such as Lac Tuckett and a memorial site, adding depth to your hiking experience.
