This hiking route takes you through a beautiful area with stunning natural landscapes. The trail is 10.289 kilometers long with an elevation gain of 807 meters, making it a difficult hike that will challenge even experienced hikers.
Your journey will start at the parking area, located right at the beginning of the trail. As you make your way along the path, you will come across the Chaltwassersee, a picturesque water body, around 4.58 kilometers from the start. This serene lake provides a perfect spot to rest and take in the surrounding beauty.
About 5.14 kilometers into the hike, you will reach the Bivaco Beniamino Farello, an alpine hut where you can take a break, enjoy some snacks, and soak in the breathtaking views. Make sure to refill your water bottles here as the next water source is about 5 kilometers away.
As you continue your journey, you will come across more water bodies, including two more lakes at the 5-kilometer mark, providing additional opportunities to admire the tranquil scenery.
At around 4.76 kilometers from the start, you will reach the Bocchetta di Aurona, a saddle point offering panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. This is a great spot to capture some memorable photos and have a snack before heading back.
The route also passes by some information points, like the Simplon Pass at 0.1 kilometers from the start, where you can learn more about the area's history and geology. Additionally, the Kaltwasserpass saddle point at 4.22 kilometers from the start offers a unique vantage point to appreciate the rugged terrain.
