Welcome to the Altsäss hiking route, a challenging 17.776-kilometer circular trail with an elevation gain of 1549 meters, making it extremely difficult but rewarding for experienced hikers. The route will take you through breathtaking natural landscapes in the Altsäss area.

As you begin your journey, you will come across the Runggalina restaurant just 0.31 kilometers from the starting point, where you can fuel up before your trek. Further along the trail, at 6.74 kilometers, you will find the peak of Vilan, offering stunning panoramic views of the surroundings.

Throughout the hike, you will encounter various amenities such as benches and viewpoints for resting and enjoying the scenery. Be sure to visit the Jugendhaus parking area at the beginning of the trail for easy access.

For information and insights along the way, stop by the information point located 0.64 kilometers from the start. Additionally, there are multiple benches scattered along the route for hikers to take breaks and admire the views.

As this is an extremely difficult hike with significant elevation gain, it is essential to pack plenty of water, snacks, and wear appropriate hiking gear. Check the weather forecast before embarking on the trail and be prepared for changing conditions.
