This hike takes you through the stunning area of Croix des Vaoutes on the Route forestière de Grande Cabane. With a total distance of 20.86 kilometers and an elevation gain of 1710 meters, this trail is considered extremely difficult and is recommended for experienced hikers.

As you start your journey, you will come across the beautiful Lac du Distroit at 6.34 kilometers from the trailhead, offering a serene water view to begin your adventure. Further along the trail, at 5.18 kilometers, you will find another water feature, adding to the scenic surroundings.

Along the way, you will pass by the historic wayside crosses of Croix des Vaoutes and a wayside shrine, offering a glimpse into the area's cultural significance.
