This hiking route will take you to the breathtaking area around Monte Sernio. The trail is 12.225 kilometers long with an elevation gain of 1389 meters, making it an extremely difficult hike that will challenge even experienced hikers. It is estimated to take around 6 hours and 18 minutes to complete.
Starting from the trailhead, you will first come across a parking area located right at the beginning of the trail. As you continue on, at 0.6 kilometers into the hike, you will find a refreshing spring where you can refill your water bottle. Further along the trail, at 2.53 kilometers, you will reach Rifugio Grauzaria, an alpine hut where you can take a break and enjoy some stunning views.
Around the midway point of the hike, at 3.68 kilometers, you will encounter Foran da la Gjialine, a saddle with beautiful panoramic views. Continuing on, at 4.85 kilometers, you will reach Forca Nuviernulis, another saddle offering stunning vistas.
As you approach the summit, at 6.06 kilometers, you will reach Torre Nuviernulis, a peak that rewards you with panoramic views of the surrounding area. Finally, at 6.11 kilometers, you will reach the highlight of the hike, Monte Sernio, the highest peak in the area. Take in the stunning views before retracing your steps back along the trail.
Along the way, you will come across various points of interest such as Torre Ivano, another peak with beautiful views, a memorial at 2.17 kilometers, an informational point at 3.68 kilometers, and a drinking water source at 2.53 kilometers.
