This hiking route takes you through the beautiful Jenbachtal area, offering scenic views and a moderate level of difficulty. The trail is an out-and-back route with a total distance of 5.788 kilometers and an elevation gain of 301 meters, taking approximately 2 hours and 5 minutes to complete.
As you start your hike, you'll come across the Jenbachtal parking area, conveniently located at the beginning of the trail. Along the way, you'll encounter the picturesque Jenbachfall waterfall, located just 0.08 kilometers from the start. Take a moment to admire the cascading waters before continuing on your journey.
Further along the trail, at a distance of 2.4 kilometers from the start, you'll find the stunning Mitterberg peak. While it's slightly off the main trail, it's worth the short detour to enjoy the panoramic views from the top.
For a rest stop, there are benches and information points scattered along the trail, providing opportunities to relax and learn more about the surrounding area. Keep an eye out for the Maier Alpe information point, located midway at 0.34 kilometers from the start.
At the turnaround point of the hike, 2.89 kilometers from the start, you'll reach the Schuhbräualm restaurant and alpine hut. This is a perfect spot to refuel with some local cuisine and take in the tranquil surroundings before heading back.
