This hiking route to Soum d'Ire is located in a beautiful area with stunning natural landscapes. The trail is an out-and-back type, spanning a total distance of 20.942 kilometers with an elevation gain of 1100 meters, making it extremely difficult in terms of difficulty.
As you start your hike, you will come across a parking area at the beginning of the trail. It's important to note that this route involves a long and challenging ascent, so make sure to bring plenty of water and snacks to keep you energized along the way.
About 6.14 kilometers into the hike, you will reach the Cabane d'Auriste, a wilderness hut where you can take a break and enjoy the surrounding views. Continuing onwards, at around 7.82 kilometers into the hike, you will encounter the peak known as Mail de Lerre, offering panoramic views of the area.
Midway through the hike, at approximately 9.07 kilometers, you will reach the Col de Bissouritto, followed by the Col d'Iré at 9.73 kilometers. These saddles provide a perfect resting spot before you tackle the remaining ascent to the summit.
Finally, after a challenging climb, you will reach the summit of Soum d'Ire at 10.47 kilometers. From this vantage point, you will be rewarded with breathtaking views of the surrounding wilderness.
