Welcome to the hiking route to Rocca Turchina! This challenging 9.032-kilometer trail with an elevation gain of 674 meters will lead you through the stunning natural beauty of the area.
At the beginning of the trail, you will find convenient parking at Piazzale Vittime del Terrorismo and Piazzale del Manente, just a short distance from the starting point. As you make your way along the trail, you will pass by Ciasubellu (ex Polveriera) shelter, perfect for a rest stop around 2.57 kilometers into the hike.
Around 1.63 kilometers into the trail, you will come across a drinking water station at Piazza San Bernardo, a great spot to refill your water bottle. Further along the route, at 3.48 kilometers, you will reach an information point, providing insights into the natural and cultural significance of the area.
As you continue your ascent, at 3.6 kilometers, you will encounter the peak of Punta Cinè, offering panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Make sure to stay hydrated and take breaks as needed, as the trail becomes more challenging with steep inclines.
Reaching the summit of Rocca Turchina at 4.52 kilometers, you will be rewarded with breathtaking views and a sense of accomplishment. Nearby, you can explore the peaks of Rocca Turchina and Bric Framosche, each offering unique perspectives of the terrain.
On your way back, consider stopping by Riparo delle Botti alto shelter around 3.9 kilometers from the start for a rest before descending. Be sure to check the weather forecast before heading out, wear appropriate hiking gear, and carry an ample water supply for this demanding but rewarding hike.
