This challenging 11.21-kilometer hiking route will take you on a circular journey through the beautiful area around Ilgenbachhütte. The route has an elevation gain of 190 meters and is estimated to take about 3 hours and 4 minutes to complete.
Starting off at the trailhead, you'll come across various points of interest along the way. Right at the beginning of the trail, you'll find a parking area and a restaurant called Hotel Engel Obertal where you can grab a bite to eat. As you continue, you'll pass by the Jäger Ruhe shelter and the Walterhütte shelter, perfect spots to take a break and enjoy the surroundings.
Midway through the hike, at around the 5.32-kilometer mark, you'll reach the scenic Ilgenbachhütte viewpoint, offering a stunning view of the area. Make sure to have your camera ready!
Towards the end of the trail, you'll pass by the Tannenfels castle ruins, adding a touch of history to your hike. As you approach the finish, you'll find a picnic site and several benches where you can rest and take in the tranquility of the surroundings.
