This hiking route will take you on an extremely difficult 16.621-kilometer journey to the beautiful Halserspitz peak. The trail starts at Altes Bad where you can grab a bite to eat before embarking on your adventure. As you make your way along the trail, you'll pass by Siebenhütten, another great spot to refuel and take in the stunning surroundings.
Throughout the hike, you'll encounter various points of interest such as the peaks of Zwieselberg, Weissenbachkopf, and Karspitz, each offering a different perspective of the landscape. Make sure to stop by the Stangenhäusl ruins for a glimpse into the area's history.
As you continue on, you'll come across several benches and viewpoints where you can rest and appreciate the natural beauty around you. Be sure to visit the Alfons Ludwig memorial and the König Max I. Joseph Denkmal for a deeper connection to the region's heritage.
Along the way, you'll find informative signposts providing insights into the local flora, fauna, and geography. Stay hydrated by filling up your water bottle at the Heilig-Kreuz-Quelle spring and Zum Heilig Kreuz drinking water station.
The trail is a circular route, so you'll end back where you started at Altes Bad. The route is challenging with an elevation gain of 1152 meters, so be sure to pack plenty of water, snacks, and wear appropriate hiking gear.
