This hiking route takes you through the picturesque area surrounding Mittlerer Wieselstein. The trail is 14.63 kilometers long and has an elevation gain of 1770 meters, making it an extremely difficult hike that will challenge even experienced hikers.
As you start your journey, you will come across a parking area at the beginning of the trail where you can leave your vehicle. Just a short distance from the parking area, about 0.04 kilometers away, you will find the Stegenwald restaurant where you can grab a bite to eat before embarking on your hike.
As you continue along the trail, you will pass by two springs, with one located approximately 4.25 kilometers from the start and the other about 2.88 kilometers away. These are great spots to refill your water bottle and take a short break.
About 1.83 kilometers into the hike, you'll come across a beautiful waterfall, offering a refreshing and scenic spot to rest before continuing on your journey. Further along the trail, at around the 4.87-kilometer mark, you'll find an information point where you can learn more about the area and its surroundings.
Midway through the hike, at 7.32 kilometers from the start, you'll reach the peak of Mittlerer Wieselstein, offering stunning panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Be sure to take a moment to rest and soak in the beauty of the area.
On the way back, you can visit the Nördlicher Wieselstein peak, located approximately 6.77 kilometers from the start, and enjoy more breathtaking views before completing your hike.
