This extremely difficult hiking route takes you on a 14.692-kilometer journey with an elevation gain of 1404 meters. The trail starts at the parking area and restaurant at Stegenwald and immediately immerses you in the beauty of nature.
As you make your way along the trail, you will come across the Leopold-Happisch-Haus alpine hut, situated 7.35 kilometers from the start. This is a great spot to take a break and enjoy some local cuisine before continuing your adventure.
Further along the route, at the 5.83-kilometer mark, you will encounter the stunning Pischenbergsee (or -lacke) lake, providing a picturesque backdrop for your hike. As you trek on, you will also come across natural springs at 4.25 kilometers and 2.88 kilometers from the start, offering a refreshing pit stop to replenish your water supply.
