Located in a picturesque area, the Reitsteig hiking route is a challenging and rewarding outdoor adventure. The trail covers a distance of 15.944 kilometers with an elevation gain of 1412 meters, making it an extremely difficult hike suitable for experienced hikers.

As you begin your journey, you will come across various points of interest along the way. Approximately 1.23 kilometers from the start, you will find parking facilities for your convenience. Further along the trail, at around 7.77 kilometers, the Hochalm restaurant offers a perfect spot to refuel and enjoy a meal.

Continuing on, at 7.32 kilometers, the Zeppezauerhaus alpine hut presents another excellent resting point with its charming ambiance. As you approach the 7.79-kilometer mark, the biergarten at Hochalm provides a scenic setting to relax and take in the surrounding natural beauty.

Throughout the hike, you will also encounter water sources and additional dining options, like Noppinger's Bräustübl and Plainer's Bar, for your convenience. Remember to stay hydrated and pack enough water for the journey. It is also advisable to check the weather forecast beforehand and wear appropriate hiking gear.

At the turnaround point of the route, located approximately 7.97 kilometers from the start, the Geiereck peak offers a stunning viewpoint to admire the landscape. On your way back, you can take a break at the Brothers Kepab restaurant before completing the challenging hike.
