This extremely difficult 9.453 kilometers long hiking route will take you through the breathtaking area of Hohes Gerstfeld. The trail starts at the parking area, where you can leave your vehicle for the duration of the hike. Make sure to bring plenty of water and check the weather forecast before heading out.

As you begin your journey, you will come across the Kalkofen monument, located just 0.5 kilometers from the start of the trail. This historic monument provides a great opportunity to learn more about the area's cultural heritage.

Continuing on, at 1.16 kilometers into the hike, you will find a bench where you can take a break and enjoy the views. Another bench is located at the beginning of the trail, offering a resting spot for hikers.

As you push further along the trail, you will reach Edelweißlahnerkopf peak at 3.44 kilometers from the start. This peak provides stunning panoramic views of the surrounding landscape, making it a perfect spot for a photo opportunity.

Moving on, you will encounter Schottmalhorn peak at 4.32 kilometers from the start, followed by Hohes Gerstfeld peak at 4.73 kilometers. These peaks offer challenging but rewarding climbs, with the chance to marvel at the beauty of the area from above.

On the way back, you will pass by a wayside cross located 0.16 kilometers from the start of the trail, adding a touch of historical significance to your hike.
