This hiking route takes you through the beautiful area surrounding Rotwandhaus. The trail is a circular route with a total distance of 10.77 kilometers and an elevation gain of 717 meters, making it a difficult hike. It is estimated to take around 4 hours and 17 minutes to complete.

As you start your journey, you will pass by Taubensteinbahn and Am See parking areas, both located close to the trailhead. As you continue along the path, about midway through the hike, you will come across stunning viewpoints at Kirchstein and Willi Ringel memorials, offering breathtaking views of the surroundings.

After a challenging climb, you will reach the peak of Kirchstein and Rotwandkopf, where you can take in panoramic views of the area. Along the way, you will also find benches and information points to rest and learn more about the surroundings.

For a break and some sustenance, the Rotwandhaus restaurant and alpine hut is located about 5.22 kilometers from the trailhead. Here, you can refuel and relax before continuing your hike. Make sure to bring enough water, as this hike can be strenuous.
