This hiking route will take you through a scenic area with breathtaking views and challenging terrain. The trail is an out-and-back type with a total distance of approximately 15 kilometers and an elevation gain of 1553 meters, making it extremely difficult and suitable for experienced hikers.
Starting from the trailhead, you will pass by several points of interest along the way. At the beginning of the hike, you will come across a parking area for your convenience. As you progress, you will reach the Simony Memorial, a historic landmark located just 0.12 kilometers from the starting point.
Continuing on, you will encounter the Jagerrast viewpoint at 3.62 kilometers from the start, offering a perfect spot to take in the surrounding natural beauty. Further along the trail, at 5.4 kilometers, you will find a refreshing spring to replenish your water supply.
Midway through the hike, approximately 7.5 kilometers from the start, you will reach the Wiesberghaus alpine hut. This is a great place to take a break, refuel, and enjoy the scenic views before heading back. The hut offers accommodation and can be a good option for an overnight stay.
As you make your way back, you will pass by the Tiergartenhütte alpine hut at 5.42 kilometers from the start. This is another opportunity to rest and recharge before completing the hike.
