Located in the beautiful area near Pont du Gard, the Route du Pont du Gard offers a super easy hike with a total distance of 1.9 kilometers and an elevation gain of 33 meters.
Starting at the Pont-du-Gard rive droite parking area, you will begin your journey through this historic area. Along the way, you will pass by the Aqueduc de Nîmes, Pont de Valmale, and stunning natural attractions such as beaches and viewpoints.
As you continue on the trail, you will come across informative signs about the Pont du Gard and Combe de Roussière. Make sure to take a moment to appreciate the ruins and rock formations that dot the landscape.
Halfway through the hike, you can take a break at La Terrasse or Les Petites terrasses for a meal or snack. Both places offer wheelchair accessibility and have opening hours during the summer months.
Towards the end of the hike, you will encounter memorial sites and information about the vestiges of the aqueduct. The route finishes back at the starting point, making it a convenient circular hike.
