This extremely difficult 10.433-kilometer out-and-back hiking route will take you to the breathtaking Pes Gerna peak. The trail starts at a parking area, where you'll find informational signs to get you started on your journey. As you make your way along the path, you'll come across various points of interest.

Early on, at just 0.03 kilometers into the hike, you'll find another informational sign to enhance your experience. Further along, at 0.41 kilometers in, there is a picturesque picnic site where you can take a break and enjoy the surroundings. As you continue, you'll pass by a quaint mountain restaurant named "Il Bivacco" at 0.77 kilometers, offering a chance to refuel and recharge.

Around 1.5 kilometers into the hike, you'll encounter the stunning Cascata della Val Sambuzza waterfall, a perfect spot to relax and take in the beauty of nature. At 1.5 kilometers, there is also a bench and another informational sign for hikers to rest and learn more about the area. Additionally, at 1.81 kilometers, you'll find a drinking water station for your convenience.

Midway through the hike, at 3.24 kilometers, there is another informational point of interest to explore. The trail continues on, leading you to Pes Gerna peak at 5.22 kilometers. From this vantage point, you'll be treated to sweeping views of the surrounding landscape, making the challenging trek well worth it.

Throughout the hike, ensure you are prepared with an ample water supply, as the trail is strenuous and covers significant elevation gain of 1312 meters. It is also advisable to check the weather forecast before starting your journey.
