Hiking : Lago de Uzkiano

This difficult 11.667-kilometer circular hiking route will take you through the stunning area surrounding Lago de Uzkiano.

Starting at the parking area located at the trailhead, you will begin your journey through diverse landscapes and challenging terrain. As you make your way along the trail, you will pass by a refreshing water source at around 5.11 kilometers from the start, allowing you to rest and refuel before continuing on.

Around 4.17 kilometers into the hike, you will come across the peak of Askuren / Beratza and a nearby cave entrance, although they are not directly on the trail. These points of interest offer a unique opportunity to explore off the beaten path and immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the area.

Midway through the hike, at approximately 5.77 kilometers from the start, you will reach the picturesque Lago de Uzkiano. Take some time to enjoy the tranquil surroundings of this beautiful lake before continuing on your journey.

With an elevation gain of 327 meters, this hike offers a challenging workout for experienced hikers. Be sure to bring plenty of water, as well as snacks and proper hiking gear. It is also recommended to check the weather forecast before setting out, as conditions can change quickly in mountainous areas.
