This hiking route takes you through the picturesque area of Sentier "Col de Riou - Pic de Viscos". With a total distance of 9.074 kilometers and an elevation gain of 394 meters, this hike is classified as difficult and is estimated to take around 3 hours and 5 minutes to complete.
Starting off, you will come across a parking area just 0.05 kilometers from the trailhead. As you continue your journey, you will encounter some historic ruins 2.16 kilometers into the hike. These ruins provide a glimpse into the area's rich history.
Further along the trail, at the 2.1 kilometers mark, you will reach the Col de Riou, a natural saddle point offering stunning panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Make sure to pause and take in the breathtaking scenery.
As you trek on, at around 4.49 kilometers, you will reach a peak with an elevation of 335 meters. This vantage point provides a great spot to rest and enjoy a snack while soaking in the beauty of the region.
Towards the end of the hike, at the 3.94 kilometers mark, you will find the Tuc des Arribans peak. Although it is slightly off the main trail, the extra effort to reach this peak is well worth it for the unparalleled views it offers.
Throughout the hike, there are a couple of information points, a restaurant, and a cafe located along the trail, providing opportunities to refuel and gather more insights about the area.
