This challenging hiking route will take you through the picturesque area of Marchegg, Monte Confinale, Ulten, and Ultimo.
Starting at the Kuppelwieser Alm, you will embark on an 8.8-kilometer out-and-back journey with an elevation gain of 711 meters. The trail begins with a visit to the Alpine hut and nearby parking area before heading towards the Aquädukt - Acquedotto, a fascinating attraction located about midway through the hike.
Along the way, you will also encounter various information points providing insights into the surrounding area. Make sure to stop by the Pfeiler - Pilastri and Latscher Joch - Passo di Laces viewpoints for stunning vistas of the landscape. If you need to refill your water supply, there is a drinking water point located a short distance away from the trail.
As you continue your hike, you will reach the Kupperlwieser Alm restaurant, where you can take a break and enjoy some local cuisine. Further down the trail, the Jochwaal information point and Latscher Joch saddle offer additional points of interest before reaching the endpoint at the Ulten - Ultimo destination.
Although the trail may be challenging due to its length and elevation gain, the breathtaking views and unique landmarks along the way make it a rewarding experience for hikers. Remember to bring enough water, snacks, and to check the weather forecast before setting out on this adventure.
