This extremely difficult 12.766-kilometer out-and-back hiking route will take you through the stunning alpine landscapes of the area, with a total elevation gain of 896 meters. Make sure to pack plenty of water, snacks, and check the weather forecast before embarking on this challenging journey.
As you start your hike, you will come across the Rifugio Alpini Santo Stefano alpine hut, located just 1.28 kilometers from the trailhead. This cozy hut is a perfect spot to rest and refuel before continuing on your adventure.
About halfway into your hike, at 4.97 kilometers from the start, you will reach the picturesque Lago di Rogneda. Take a moment to admire the tranquil waters of this beautiful lake and soak in the breathtaking scenery surrounding you.
Further along the trail, at 6.38 kilometers from the start, you will find the Pozza di Rani, a scenic natural water feature that adds to the charm of the hike. This spot is perfect for a rest stop and a chance to appreciate the peacefulness of the area.
As you make your way back towards the starting point, you will pass by Bucheta de Rugneda saddle, located 6 kilometers from the start. This natural formation offers a unique perspective of the landscape and is a great place to take some photos before heading back.
