Welcome to the hiking route "Postcard Picture - Circuit 2 - Machupicchu". This route offers a super easy trek through breathtaking scenery in Machu Picchu.
Starting at the trailhead, you'll find convenient parking at the beginning of the route. As you make your way along the trail, you'll come across the Ciudadela de Machu Picchu, an ancient archaeological site that is a must-see attraction. It is located about 0.33 kilometers from the start of the trail.
Further along, at the same distance point, you'll find the Tumba Real, a historic tomb, and the Puerta de la Ciudad, a city gate, adding to the historical significance of the hike.
Midway through the route, you'll encounter Machu Picchu Control, an informative site that provides insights into the area's history. Nearby, you can also take a break at Restaurante Buffet Tinkuy, located just 0.04 kilometers from the trail.
Continuing on, you'll pass by benches for resting at 0.37 kilometers and Espejos de Agua, a natural spring, at 0.33 kilometers from the start. As you approach the endpoint, don't miss the viewpoints at 0.1 kilometers, 0.27 kilometers, and 0.37 kilometers, offering stunning panoramic views of Machu Picchu.
With a total distance of 0.738 kilometers and an elevation gain of 43 meters, this hike is suitable for all skill levels.
